The Big Why

Why Your Organisation Needs ESG Alignment

Today’s funding landscape demands more than intent — it demands accountability and measurable impact. ESG alignment positions your NGO for the next generation of institutional donors and corporate partners.

Securing Partners

Demonstrate ESG alignment to unlock CSR funding, UN partnerships, and institutional grants that require standards-based reporting.

Building Credibility

Align with globally recognised frameworks (GRI, SDGs) so donors, boards, and the public trust your organisation’s integrity and governance.

Improving Impact

Move from anecdotal reporting to measurable, data-driven outcomes — communicating real impact to stakeholders with confidence.

Organisational Resilience

Build robust risk management and accountability systems that protect your mission against legal, financial, and reputational threats.

Ensuring Long-Term Relevance

Stay competitive in a rapidly shifting global landscape where ESG scoring is becoming standard for all social sector funding decisions.

Foundations · Session 1
Foundations of ESG vs. Traditional Philanthropy
The shift from “doing good” to “reporting impact.” Define Environmental, Social and Governance in an NPO context, see why the UN, EU, USAID and corporate CSR wings are adopting ESG scoring, and reflect on stewardship vs. ownership — managing resources for the “Great Client.”

Environmental · Session 2
The “E” in NPOs — Environmental Stewardship
Manage the carbon footprint of offices and field travel, practise ethical sourcing for aid supplies and office materials, and bring a “green” lens to programmes such as disaster relief. Includes a hands-on activity calculating the carbon footprint of a sample field project.
10 Nov

Social · Session 3
The “S” in NPOs — Social Impact & Human Rights

17 Nov
04
Governance · Session 4
The “G” in NPOs — Governance & Transparency
Gold-standard board structures, anti-corruption policies and whistleblower protections; aligning with IFRS and local regulatory requirements; spotting mission drift and legal liabilities; and the discipline of the internal audit (Proverbs 31:18).
24 Nov
05

Reporting & Global Frameworks — GRI, SASB & SDGs
