A profile of David Joseph – Consultant – Technology, CIM
“At times, God reminds me of what He told the Jews during their exile, in Jeremiah 29:11 –
‘For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you…’
And at times, God reminds me of what He told Ananias regarding Paul when he became a follower of Christ, in Acts 9:16 –
‘I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake.’
But whether in times of prosperity or suffering, Christ’s promise to His disciples after giving them the Great Commission has always assured me of His presence –‘Behold, I am with you, even to the ends of the age.’”
Meet David Joseph, Consultant – Technology at CIM. Here is a glimpse of his journey and how God has been faithfully at work through his life over the past 10 years.
David narrates his story in his own words.

David’s Journey to CIM
In 2016, while dealing with health issues and taking a break from my Chartered Accountancy course, I was unable to take up regular work or travel. Around that time, my aunt, Mrs. Seline Augustine—then part of the Publications Department at CIM—asked if I could help with some of CIM’s publications.
With encouragement from my parents, I went for an interview. After that, I was able to join CIM as a Management Coordinator in Publications, expecting to serve for just six months.
But those six months turned into nearly ten years! I found joy in the work and was deeply motivated by CIM’s vision to help organisations and NPOs operate with a biblical standard of management excellence.
Later, I moved to the Courses Department, where I could use my interest in computers—a gift I believe God gave me—to coordinate courses and help establish CIM’s online learning platform, all by His grace.
Most recently, I started serving as a Consultant for Technology, where I am involved with working on solutions to improve the efficiency of CIM’s operations through technology. This includes developing an ERP, managing the website and online learning platform, and other technology-related projects of CIM.
Life Experiences that Shaped David
I believe my health journey has had the greatest impact on my life and character. Although I don’t suffer from an acute condition, my chronic challenges began in the 8th standard, causing me to lose a year in school and continue my studies from home throughout school and college. It even affected my work at CIM.
This led to depression and hopelessness. But like Joseph in the Bible, I believe that what was intended for harm, God used for good. Even in those dark seasons where it felt like He was absent, looking back, I now see clearly, He was there all along.
David on his Passion and Purpose
Though I studied accounting, I’ve always been passionate about computers, technology, and education. While I don’t teach in the traditional sense, I believe technology is a powerful tool for delivering quality educational content and empowering learners.
I’m especially passionate about using tech to make work processes more efficient, helping organisations do more with the resources they have.
CIM has helped me live out this passion by involving me in course development and improving operations through technology.
David’s Hope for CIM
CIM is already making a significant impact on NPOs and other organisations in the areas of management and operations. I hope to contribute by leveraging low-budget tech solutions to improve these services even further. I desire to see CIM blend technology more deeply with its existing training and tools to enhance its reach and impact.
I am grateful for God’s faithfulness in my life, and for the impact CIM continues to make, despite being a small organisation. Looking back, I’ve learned that it is truly a blessing to serve the Lord. I’ve discovered the value of relationships and the strength of working together prayerfully.
David lives in Vellore with his wife, Heema and their son Daniel. His story is one of quiet perseverance despite struggles and limitations. David stands as an encouragement to go further and to be better than yesterday for the glory of God. With his faithful service in CIM, he challenges everyone to strive harder and better for the kingdom. Whether in prosperity or suffering, he continues to walk with God, confident in His promises.
“He was there, through it all.”
