“The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary…” — Isaiah 50:4

For Mr. Allwin Malhia, this verse is more than a favourite scripture—it is his personal mission statement. Currently serving as the Senior Management Co-ordinator in the Organisational Development (OD) Department at CIM, Allwin’s life is a testimony of faith, perseverance, and a deep calling to serve.

Born into a Christian missionary family, his journey has traversed both corporate corridors and mission fields. What began as a career in NGOs and CSR roles slowly unfolded into something deeper—a divine calling to use his gifts to strengthen and sustain those who are weary.

Early Years and Career Journey

Allwin’s path was not without struggles. His early years were marked by academic failures, rejections, and discouragement. Teachers doubted his abilities, but a Muslim principal chose to see potential in him and gave him an opportunity that turned his life around.

From being a struggling student, Allwin steadily transformed into an academic achiever. In college, he excelled in literature and social work, earning proficiency awards and proving that resilience could rewrite his story.

In 2011, he applied to CIM for the first time but was not called. Instead, he joined World Vision India, where he worked for over six years, followed by roles in various NGOs. Before joining CIM, he served as CSR Manager at Coromandel International Limited. Though the work was enjoyable and aligned with his career aspirations, he often found himself questioning: “Is this what God truly wants me to do?”

A Turning Point

The defining moment came when a fellow missionary kid and college mate challenged him directly: “When are you getting into Mission?” That question became a catalyst for his transformation.

Isaiah 50:4 became his vision statement long before he joined CIM: “The tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary.” Allwin believes this is God’s purpose for his life. After joining CIM, he began to witness this verse coming alive—not just in conversations with individuals, but also in guiding and strengthening organisations navigating fragile seasons.

Looking Back: Lessons Learned

Reflecting on his journey, Allwin recognises that his struggles were not setbacks but steppingstones. Each failure, rejection, and season of uncertainty shaped his character and faith. Among the key lessons he carries are:

  • Resilience in the face of adversity.
  • Empathy for those who struggle.
  • The importance of continuous growth.
  • Aligning professional work with spiritual calling.

Grateful for God’s hand through it all, Allwin says, “I sincerely believe it is His unlimited grace that has sustained me.”

Passion and Purpose at CIM

Allwin’s passion lies in serving people and developing strategies to support missions. CIM gives him a platform where his personal vision—rooted in Isaiah 50:4—is lived out daily. He treasures the privilege of seeing how even his smallest contributions can make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and organisations.

Speaking of CIM’s uniqueness, he highlights its greatest strength: its people. “The uniqueness of CIM lies in the capacity of its staff, pool of resource people, their sacrificial commitment and above all, in the way they wholeheartedly offer themselves.”

Looking ahead, Allwin dreams of CIM becoming:

  • A Christian Centre of Excellence, shaping leaders through experiential learning.
  • A Resource Hub, where organisations can find everything under one umbrella—from legal and auditing services to statutory compliance and brand-building.
  • A Self-sustaining model, reducing dependence on external resources.

A Journey of Grace

Looking back, Allwin sees God’s hand in every season—the academic failures, corporate dissatisfaction, and the redirections that led him here. CIM is more than just a workplace for him; it is the place where his passion meets his purpose.

He continues to walk faithfully, living out Isaiah 50:4 in word, work, and witness—bringing strength to the weary.
