Social Media and AI: Revolutionizing Organisational Communication


A Social Media and Artificial Intelligence workshop in Chennai, hosted by the Christian Institute of Management (CIM) on August 7, 2024, revealed new possibilities for better communication 61 delegates from across India attended, with many discovering the potential of enhanced productivity in digital platforms.


Mr Natchi Lazarus, an international marketing and media strategist, introduced the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence. He challenged the audience to embrace innovative thinking. Mr Lazarus urged Institutions, NGOs, and Churches to harness technology, stating, "If AI is helping to do your job better, why do you hesitate to adopt and adapt by partnering with technology?"


Key takeaways from the program included:

  1. Recognizing the shifting landscape of influence, particularly among younger generations.

  2. Expxloring individual potential as social media influencers to reach milions through collaboration.

  3. Addressing contemporary emotional, mental, relational, financial, and professional needs through technology.

The seminar highlighted the dawn of an 'intelligence revolution' with Alexander Ng's quote, "AI is the new electricity". Underscoring its significance, participants were encouraged to focus on practical applications rather than complex technical aspects. As the religious and chairtable sector is entering this new era of digital ministry, embracing AI and social media is emerging as a necessary step in effective communication.
