“One small step for a man, but a giant leap for mankind”. Just like this famous quote, a leap calls for a better, further, stronger, next-level advancement. In CIM, LEAP is not just a giant jump but an acronym for L-learning E-Enrichment A-Advancement P-Programme.
LEAP is a new initiation that involves the staff of CIM to make a presentation on their area of expertise once every month.
It started on 13th September 2024 as an HR in-house staff capacity-building initiative coordinated by Mr. Raja Christopher, Director of Training.
Mr. Allwin Malhia, Senior Management Coordinator of the Department of Organisation Development, was the opening batsman of the initiative. He enlightened everyone about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Beginning with the history of CSR in India and around the world, he talked about the need for CSR and the mandates regulated by the government. In a short duration, he covered different aspects of CSR in a scholarly and comprehensible way, educating everyone present on the importance and use of CSR.
Mr. Paul Pratap Jeyaraj, Administrative Committee Chairman of CIM, corporate trainer and research guide who has guided Harvard Medical School students, was the Chief Guest on the inaugural day and gave the introductory message. He said CIM was a place that was clear about its vision. He appreciated Dr. Aby Alexandar, the Executive Director, and the team for staying true to the mission statement in establishing CIM’s vision. He pointed out that this initiative could be a good starting place for better teamwork and encouragement and result in more such explorations.
“In professional life, friends and family cheer us on, but it is our team members who point out our mistakes”, he said. Mr. Pratap also mentioned how one should be open and receptive to feedback. He concluded by saying, “Keep perfecting the process, but progress is more important than perfection. If you are better than even one month ago, then you are on the right track.”
