Whether it is filing tax returns or FCRA, the process can be frustrating for many taxpayers who need help navigating the complexities of the new regulations and changes, making it challenging to understand their liabilities and potential savings. CIM’s Income Tax Seminars for Non-Profit Organisations prepare the participants for the challenges ahead.
On 21st October 2024, at the Integrated Social Initiatives, Delhi, CIM organised its first Income Tax Seminar of the year. CA Vijay Ponneri of Ponneri & Associates, Hyderabad, a Specialist in the subject, addressed the gathering. The participants included CEOs, Directors, Finance heads, Pastors, Administrators and Leaders. Mr. Raja Christopher, Director of Training, CIM, led the entire seminar.
Many participants noted that the seminar equipped them with valuable insights and actionable strategies for managing their tax obligations, especially on forms 12AB and 80G. Danny Niraja, from Flag, wrote that the LLB approach and asset management were insightful. He committed to managing ITRs and asset oversight, while Shashikant B.S. from EFICOR planned to maintain notes on IT and FCRA filings and keep legal documents updated.
The second Income Tax Seminar was held at KROSS, Bangalore, on 25th October. The meeting was hosted by Mr. Miracle Frank, CIM. CA Manju George from R.K. Khanna Associates, Bangalore, guided the participants. With around 28 leaders from various organisations participating, their enthusiasm for self-improvement was evident throughout the event. CA Manju George led the session exceptionally well, concentrating on the key updates introduced in the new Financial Bill 2024.
The session was highly interactive and some of the topics covered included the required records to be maintained as an NPO such as taxable income, filings of returns, violations, renewal of registration under Section 12AB, changes in audit reports, disclosure requirements in the returns, objects of general public utility and the implications of running businesses.
Furthermore, CIM will host two Income Tax Seminars this year: one in Kochi on November 26 at Cardinal Parecattil Memorial Renewal Centre with CA Johnney Pallivathukkal, and another in Chennai on December 6 at Hotel Vestin Park with CA John Ravindran.
We encourage you to mark your calendar for the upcoming income tax seminar which will provide essential insights and updates on the latest tax regulations. This event aims to equip attendees with the knowledge to navigate tax responsibilities effectively and to enhance financial literacy.
