Equipping Future Leaders: Management Training for Theological Students

On the 12th of September 2024, CIM conducted training on management excellence for students and faculty of two seminarys under the ECI church leadership. Dr. Aby Alexandar, the Executive Director, took management classes for the students of Madras Theological Seminary and College (MTSC), Chennai.

On the same day, Mr. Sam Blesson, the Director of OD and Mr. Jacob Varghese, Consultant & Former Training Director, CIM, visited the third and final year Bachelor of Divinity (BD) students, and fifty-five faculty members of the Allahabad Bible Seminary, Prayagraj, commonly called the ABS. CIM also conducted Organisation Climate Check-up service to this Institution on 11 Sept 2024.

The students of both institutions were educated on Biblical management excellence. One of CIM’s third-decade visions, Management Education in Theological Institutions (METI) had been a key factor in this venture. The subjects taught were from the Basic Management Handbook of CIM publications. They included topics on handling finances, ways to start and manage a trust or society, project management and raising and managing resources for a ministry. Furthermore, copies of the Basic Management Handbook were distributed to students and faculty of the ABS.

It is common for Bible colleges students to be unaware of practical leadership and management skills, as the institutions solely focus on spiritual aspects. CIM is changing this notion by partnering and working with Bible colleges and other institutions, teaching and educating them on the practical workings of a ministry. CIM continues to enlighten future pastors and leaders of institutions and missions and helps them strive to achieve excellence in every area.
